Not All Satin Feels the Same
What We Look for in a LUNACELIA Scarf
When choosing a scarf, the print may be the first thing you notice — but the fabric is what you remember when you wear it.
Not all satin feels the same.
Its weight, softness, surface, movement and the way it catches light can completely change how a scarf looks and feels.
What Makes a Beautiful Satin Scarf?
For us, a beautiful scarf needs movement.
It should feel soft against the skin and fall naturally rather than feeling stiff. It needs enough structure to hold a knot beautifully, while remaining fluid enough to move with you.
The surface matters too.
We love satin for its gentle luminosity — the way it reflects light without needing anything extra.
That subtle shine can make colours appear richer and give printed designs another dimension.
Why the Fabric Matters to the Print
Colour behaves differently depending on the fabric beneath it.
The same artwork printed onto two different satin qualities can produce surprisingly different results.
The surface influences the depth of the colours, the clarity of the details and even how the design changes as the scarf moves.
For LUNACELIA, the relationship between print and fabric is especially important because colour is such a central part of our identity.
We want our prints to feel alive.
Satin with a Touch of Elastane
Some of our pieces contain a small percentage of elastane.
That little addition can give the fabric extra flexibility and movement while helping it sit beautifully when tied, wrapped or styled in different ways.
It is a small technical detail, but one that can change how a piece behaves when you actually wear it.
Chosen for the Feel
We do not believe a scarf should only look beautiful folded inside a box or photographed on a screen.
It needs to work in real life.
It should feel good around your neck, soft in your hair, easy to knot onto a handbag and comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.
Because ultimately, beautiful design is not only something you see.
It is something you feel.
Feel the colour. Make it your own.
